Overview
I’m not trying to change the world with my work. I’m just trying to do my part. I see my practice as part of a whole movement… Too much of art history has promoted the brilliance of the individual act vs. the production of a group activity.
Andrea Bowers is a visual artist based out of L.A working with different mediums such as video, installation art, and drawing. An avid activist, Bowers speaks on political issues such as immigration rights, worker's rights, climate justice, and women's rights through her artwork. Her work has been exhibited in galleries and museums across the globe and was featured in the 2004 Whitney Biennial and the 2008 California Biennial.
