DJ AMAGO

DJ Amago (he/him, b.1994) is a Filipino contemporary artist based in Laguna, Philippines. His work explores the delicate, often painful vulnerabilities of human connection, delving into love, longing, intimacy, and the quiet desire to be seen. While shaped by his lived experiences as a gay man, Amago’s art transcends specific identity, speaking to universal emotions that resonate with anyone who has ever loved or lost.

Visually, his work is defined by recurring motifs: multiple hands signaling different emotional states, and threads and needles symbolizing the act of being sewn into or painfully torn away from another person. Amago primarily depicts stoic male subjects against vibrant, chaotic backgrounds, capturing the tension between inner stillness and emotional noise.
